Junior Accountant | Canberra | Career Development OpportunityAn exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Junior Accountant to join a well-established and growing accounting practice based in Canberra. This role is ideal for an ambitious individual with 1-3 years of experience in public practice who is looking to take the next step in their career.
Your New RoleReporting to senior team members, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely accounting services to a diverse client base. You will gain exposure to a broad range of accounting and taxation matters, while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS across various entity types
• Assisting with bookkeeping, payroll, and reconciliations using cloud-based accounting platforms
• Supporting senior accountants with client queries and advisory tasks
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and accounting standards
• Contributing to internal process improvements and team initiatives

What You'll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• 1-3 years of experience in a local public practice accounting environment
• A degree in Accounting or a related discipline
• Working knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting principles
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or similar
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and a proactive approach to learning and development
