Newly created Senior Accountant role within a successful Australian insurance group Your new company
Our client is a leading Australian-owned financial services firm with a strong national presence and a reputation for delivering tailored solutions. Backed by a major ASX-listed group, they manage a substantial portfolio and offer access to a wide network.
A newly created opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join the business. Over the next 12 months, this role is expected to evolve into a Finance Business Partner position.

Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller/Group CFO, you will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, both internal and external.

• Oversee core financial functions including accounting, tax, audit, payroll, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare annual statutory financial statements, in line with ASIC requirements.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and provide regular forecasts throughout the year.
• Partner with department managers to review performance against budget, identify variances, and implement action plans.
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and enhance operational efficiency.
• Lead and develop direct reports through coaching and meaningful performance conversations.
• Represent the organisation professionally in all external engagements.What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be CA or CPA qualified with 3-5 years experience in a similar role, ideally working in a group environment. Experience in financial services will be ideal.
