Company History
Blair Diaz is a certified public accountant with over 19 years of public accounting experience in many areas of business. For three years with the Atlanta office of Coopers & Lybrand, LLP, she participated in the audits of large and mid-sized companies including not-for-profit organizations, financial institutions, manufacturing, real estate, insurance, retail and service companies.
After working in the "Big 6" environment, Blair joined a local accounting firm in Gainesville, Georgia, in 1996 and specialized in compilation, review, and audit engagements for regional businesses and not-for-profit organizations. She also assisted in the preparation of corporate, partnership and individual tax returns. Blair’s expertise is in accounting and auditing, and her goal is to improve her clients’ financial reporting processes in order to provide accurate and informative financial reports for their users.
In January 2004, Blair opened her own accounting firm, Blair C. Diaz, CPA, PC. While still primarily focusing her attention on audits and review engagements, Blair expanded the scope of her services to include bookkeeping, payroll, consulting, and tax services. As the firm grew, nonprofit organizations began to constitute a large percentage of the firm’s client base. Because of this, Blair concentrates much of her minimum of forty hours of continuing education courses annually to those related to issues facing nonprofit organizations. She also participates with the local Nonprofit Network, directed by the North Georgia Community Foundation, to conduct helpful workshops for executive directors and board members of nonprofit agencies on financial and accounting related topics.
Blair earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Georgia in 1993 and subsequently passed the CPA exam in one sitting. She has three children and is a very active community volunteer. Blair’s professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
