- Senior Tax Accountant International & Advisory - Bilingual English-Spanish (Part-time, Miami, FL)
Description
About Pendas
We are a boutique CPA and advisory firm helping international entrepreneurs and companies establish and grow their businesses in the U.S.
Our work goes beyond tax compliance. We combine U.S. tax, accounting, and business advisory to support clients as they expand into new states, structure their U.S. operations, navigate cross-border tax matters, or evaluate investments and acquisitions.
Our clients come to us not only to prepare their tax returns, but also for practical advice that considers both the technical requirements and the realities of running a business in the U.S.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working closely with clients, and continuing to learn as our clients and firm grow.
Why join Pendas?
As a small and growing firm, we offer the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of work early in your career with us.
You’ll work directly with business owners, participate in client and strategy meetings, research complex tax matters, and contribute to international tax, business expansion, and M&A projects.
We’re looking for someone who wants to grow beyond tax preparation and develop into a well-rounded advisor who understands both the numbers and the business behind them.
Part-time position: 100% remote, with occasional in-person client meetings.
Location: Miami, FL. Our office is located in Brickell.
Role & Key Responsibilities
You'll work directly with international business owners, helping them navigate U.S. tax, accounting, and strategic decisions. While tax compliance is an important part of the role, you'll also contribute to advisory engagements, M&A projects, and long-term client relationships.
Client & Advisory
Participate in and increasingly lead recurring client meetings
Build trusted relationships with international business owners and executives
Research tax and business issues and present practical recommendations
Help clients understand U.S. tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements
Support tax planning, entity structuring, multi-state, and cross-border matters
Participate in advisory, business expansion, and M&A projects
Manage client engagements, deadlines, deliverables, and follow-up
Identify issues and opportunities proactively rather than waiting for direction
Tax & Technical
Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns, including Forms 1120, 1065, and 1040
Support international tax compliance and reporting, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8938, FBAR, and other cross-border requirements
Research complex U.S. federal, state, and international tax matters
Assist with IRS and state correspondence and technical tax matters
Work with the team to ensure tax positions and recommendations are technically sound and clearly communicated
International tax experience is preferred but not required. Strong U.S. tax fundamentals, resourcefulness, and a genuine interest in developing cross-border expertise are more important to us than knowing every international form on day one.
Firm Growth & Innovation
Look for ways to improve client service and internal processes
Use modern technology and AI thoughtfully to improve research, workflows, and efficiency
Share ideas, ask questions, and help us continuously improve how we work
Take ownership when you see something that can be done better
