As an Accounting & Tax Office Associate, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping our clients’ financial records accurate, their tax filings compliant, and their experience with us exceptional. Your work will directly contribute to our clients’ peace of mind, ensuring they can focus on their goals while we handle the details.
Succession & Ownership Path
This role is structured for an experienced tax professional seeking a direct path to firm ownership. The principal plans to transition the practice over the next 2 to 5 years, offering a turn-key buy-in opportunity.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and meticulously review moderate to complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations (S-Corps, C-Corps) trusts, estates and gift.
- Conduct comprehensive tax research on intricate issues.
- Tax representation work that requires strong negotiation and persuasion skills for advocating on behalf of clients.
- Maintain and reconcile client financial records.
- Handle payroll processing, client write-up work, sales tax filings, and other compliance-related tasks.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and answer basic accounting or tax-related questions.
- Organize and maintain both digital and physical client files for easy access and compliance.
- Support the office with administrative tasks such as scheduling, scanning, and document preparation.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and tax preparation (public accounting experience a plus either as an Enrolled Agent or CPA candidate that has already met their experience requirement under supervision of a licensed CPA).
- Proficiency with Thomson Reuters UltraTax, Fixed Assets, File Cabinet Solutions and Accounting CS software STRONGLY PREFERRED. Also be familiar with Grunt Worx, Financial-Cents Practice Management and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously.
- Clear, professional communication skills—both written and verbal.
- A high level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
- Superior analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
